1. People here drive like MANIACS! It is NOTHING compared to the college kids and elderly folks that make ya cringe in Lubbock. Stop signs are merely suggestions and EVERYONE is in a hurry. Speed limits don't seem to exist.
2. The famous "Michigan Left". What is this you ask? It is this crazy driving rule that you cant make left turns at intersections (Ashlee sound familiar?? HA!) So if you want to turn you have to go up to the middle of the road you are on about 200 feet PAST the intersection and make a U turn. SERIOUSLY makes us CRAZY!
3. Michiganers have potty mouths. No joke. EVERYONE here has a dirty mouth and not just the slight curse words. And mostly I hear it out of nurses and doctors while talking about and TO the patients. WEIRD! Patrick noticed that the sports guys are worse here too. STRANGE!
4. Texas women are better looking. Odd thing to notice but so true. Women here don't wear make-up or fix their hair and even still just naturally no striking women. "Southern belles" are for real. Yall are just better looking. Plus its really cold up here so who care if they are "fixed up" when its -10! I will fit right in!
5. Coney Island. No we did not move to New York but on every street corner is a "Insert Name (Leo's, Tommy's etc.) Coney Island". They do sell hot dogs with chili but mostly its a diner with an influence on breakfast and Greek food with some hot dogs thrown in. Check it out: www.leosconeyisland.com But hey the breakfast is cheap and pretty good. Everything else in this state is overpriced.
6. The accents drive me nuts... imagine a BAWSTON (boston) AHCENT (accent) with a telephone operator voice. Yet I catch myself drawing out my A's like that.

8. The hospital is more like Grey's Anatomy than in Lubbock. I seriously wheeled someone to radiology and SPOKE with the radiologist 2 seconds after the report was done. And it wasn't emergent. That would NEVER happen in Lubbock. Although no Mc Steamy's or Mc Dreamy's - the men are ugly too!
9. I miss TEXANS. Please come visit us and bring homemade salsa!
10. It is COLD. oh wait already said that. just wanted to remind yall to come in SUMMER MONTHS!
ps- work is crazy but going well- done more things in the last few days then I did the last few years in Texas. Its been great for me learning wise but the learning curve is a little fast. Pat is doing good too. We just need time to adjust. We miss everyone but love hearing from you ... keep it up

Wow! Sounds like we really have nothing to complain about huh? Looks like there is never a dull moment over there! Texas may have the dirt storms, tornadoes, etc...but TEXANS are STILL the friendliest around don't you think? You were put there for a reason! Think about it...hmmmm...maybe some of your South "Texan" charm will rub off on some of those Northerners...hope all is well and just "seize" the day!!! Live for the moment! We all miss you! Cissy
